Zoho Sheet is an online spreadsheet application giving you the freedom to create spreadsheets, collaborate and share your spreadsheets with individuals or groups.

With Zoho Sheet, you can:

  • Access Spreadsheets anywhere: Create, edit and access your spreadsheets from anywhere without the need of an installation.
  • No More Attachment worries: Share documents with your friends or publish them for public view.
  • Multiple User ability: Collaborate with multiple users to work on a single spreadsheet.
  • Import or Export Excel sheets: You can import Excel file or even copy and paste it. Exporting a file is also possible in Zoho Sheet.
  • Macros and Pivot Tables: Make use of advanced features like VBA macros and Pivot tables.
  • Build Mashups: Sync up with remote data from the web or use our APIs to build mashups.

To Create a New sheet simply click on the New tab and a new sheet is created.

To Import Sheet

You can import various file types including xls, ods, sxc, csv and tsv.

  1. Click on Import
  2. Click on Browse to select the file
  3. Click on Submit

To Export a Sheet

Now you can export your Zoho sheet files to any file type including xls, ods, sxc, gnumeric, csv, tsv, xml, xhtml, html and pdf.

  1. Click on Export
  2. Select the file type to be exported
  3. Select either Open with or Save to Disk
  4. The file is exported

 

Saving a File

  1. Click on Save
  2. Select either "Save as.." or "Mark as.."
  3. The file is saved.

To print a sheet simply click on Print and the file is printed.

To Share a File

Save the file to be shared

  1. Click on Share
  2. Select Invite
  3. Select either Read only or Read/Write
  4. Select the Whole Document or Specific Sheets
  5. From the option select the invite language
  6. Click Send Mail

A "Share This Document" dialog box opens with the shared details.

If you have re-worked on your sheets and need to inform the users of the edits simply select the Notify Shared Users option.

  1. Click on Share
  2. Select Notify Shared Users
  3. Enter the Subject and the Message
  4. Click Send Mail

To Embed Files

Zoho Sheet gives you the option of embedding your files in a blog or a site. It can be within the organization or even made public.

  1. Click on Publish
  2. Select Embed In
  3. Select Intranet Blog/Site (to publish within your organization)
  4. Select any option given
  5. Click Continue
  6. A unique html snippet and a URL is provided.
  7. Copy and paste the html to your blog or website
  8. The URl can be clicked on to view the published file.

To embed your file publicily select the External Blog/Site option in Publish and follow the same steps as above.

Making Files Public

  1. Click Publish
  2. Select Make Public
  3. Select Within Organization
  4. Choose any of the Public options available
  5. Click OK
  6. A unique URL is provided
  7. There are 2 views provided
  8. Click on Embed in Website/Blog to receive the html snippet

To publish within the external world select To External World in Make Public option and follow the same steps as above.

To remove the public option of the file simply click on Remove Public option in the Publish feature.

You can also publish ranges with the Publish Range option given in Publish. You are provided with an html snippet which can be copied and pasted on the blog or site.

View Published Ranges

  1. Click on Publish
  2. Select Show Published Ranges
  3. The range can be viewed.

Zoho Sheet gives you a lot more. You can work with Macros, Pivot tables, VBA editor and a lot of other actions can be performed.

More Actions

The Save As New Document

There are several ways to use this feature.

1. To save an edited file as a new file without saving it as a version

2. To use a file as a template for future use

Mark as a New Version

Now you can have several versions of a file using this option. To view the versions simply select View Version History.

External Data Dialog

Now your spreadsheets can contain external data like CSV data, RSS feeds and html pages integrated into it.

  1. Select Link External Data
  2. Select the URL type
  3. Click Next
  4. Select the Sheet name and the Cell
  5. Click on Next
  6. Select when u want the task performed
  7. Click on Done

The Manage External Data option lets you view, edit and delete the external data that you have integrated into the sheet.

You can also name the cell or the range according to your specification.

  1. Select Name this Cell/Range option or simply click Ctrl+F3
  2. Enter the name
  3. Click on Add

You can even add tags to the file by selecting the Tags option.

Macros and Pivot Tables

Zoho Sheet now has the feature of supporting Macros and Pivot tables. You can write VBA code to automate or do a variety of tasks on your Zoho spreadsheets.

  1. Click on Macros
  2. Select Create New Macros
  3. Enter the name of the Macros
  4. Click on Create

 

To work on the VBA editor simply click on VBA Editor in the Macros menu.

Pivot Tables

Zoho Sheet now supports Pivot Tables and helps in analyzing your data and creating reports.
